An admin provides access details privately. Never share the server password or private join information.

STEAM / PC

Connect by address

  1. Launch Valheim and select your character.
  2. Open Join Game, then choose Join IP.
  3. Enter the address shown below.
  4. Enter the password supplied by an admin.

XBOX / GAME PASS

Use the crossplay code

  1. Ask an admin for the current crossplay join code.
  2. Open Join Game and select the join-code option.
  3. Enter the code and private server password.

A join code can change after a restart. Ask for a fresh one if yours stops working.

SERVER FAQ

A few things to know.

How many players can join?

Northrend launches with 10 simultaneous player slots, Valheim’s current vanilla limit. Membership itself is not limited to ten people; this only affects how many can be online at once.

If demand grows and compatible server-side options become available, we plan to expand capacity or add another Northrend world.

Can I play alone?

Absolutely. Build independently, explore at your own pace, or team up with other players. Respect the shared world either way.

Can Steam and Xbox or Game Pass players join?

Yes. Crossplay is enabled. Steam players can use the server address, while Xbox and Game Pass players use a current crossplay join code from an admin.

What happens after I apply?

An admin reviews your application and can contact you using the Discord username provided. There is no guaranteed response time. Approval and private connection details are shared directly.

Will there be a fresh world for Valheim 1.0?

A fresh world is planned for 1.0. The opening date and final launch details have not been announced. Watch News for updates.

Will the world be wiped regularly?

No recurring wipe schedule has been announced. Any planned reset will be communicated in News and Discord.

Are anti-griefing mods installed?

Anti-griefing mod availability for 1.0 is not confirmed. Do not assume builds are automatically protected.

Do I need client mods?

Current client requirements will be included with approval. Do not install an unofficial mod pack just to join; ask an admin if you are unsure.

Why does the status say players unavailable?

Live player monitoring is currently paused until a reliable crossplay-compatible source is connected. That message does not mean the server is offline.
